The Baen Free Library is just what it says: free. They will, of course, frequently give you the first one or two books in a series, hoping you will want to buy the rest, but this is an honest business practice. In the mean time, there are quite enough books to keep even an avid reader like me busy for quite some time. If you want more books than the free ones, Baen also offers a paid ebook program called Webscription, which allows you to choose a certain number of books per month. I'm less familiar with this one, since I've never had enough money to join it. One of these days I will, though. In the mean time, I'll content myself with the free library. -  Deena
