I love the Used, I can't help it. I'm not ashamed, but for some reason I've been waiting for a backlash... They so completely encompass the screamo/thrash metal scene of now that it seems inevitable that someday they'll be met with scorn from their reviewers. Nothing will ever compare with their first album in my opinion, but this, their third album, Lies for the Liars, rocks harder than their last album! The Used are just one of those bands, not exactly a guilty pleasure, though I have seen them live so many times that I've lost count, and yes, I have obsessively bought every magazine with Bert McCracken on the cover since 2002, but what can I say? Everyone should have an entire album riddled with screeching odes to their tea cup chihuahua!!! - )'(Ms. Meow)'( , posted 05/23/07 |
