Total Dump
Very surprised the city of San Bruno keeps this dump around. The lowest of the lowest hang out there. My two visit there have been to say the least an experience. Drunks, drugs, prostitutes, etc...........Truly a disgrace for an Irish Pub. Do yourself a favor and drive another mile or so to Milbrae. You will not have to deal with the Bi*ch Collett (bartender) who mistreats those who do not wish to be apart of her click. Amazing how her trashy boyfriend sits there and gets hammered every time she works. Not much be rung up in the registar. She is very insecure especially if you bring in another female that smashes her ugly looks. Oh lets not forget those who brag about being from San Quentin Prison----real classy! Great conversation piece! And the ex cop from detroit who now thinks he is so important to be a security officer and the local casino while chasing Asian whores around and paying for sex or setting up the bar with drinks to give the image that he is important. What loosers! My last visit there I walked out understanding why the term white trailer park trash fits my race for this place gives you complete understanding. Oh by the way, not a friendly atmosphere to afro americans and they make it known. The best I can do is encourage the city to close the doors. - JP , posted 01/01/08

Fun little bar !
Had a great time ! my friends and I felt very comfortable from the minute we walked in. cool people and great live band. We'll be back.
Well we check out Georgio's and if you call it a breath of fresh air than all I can say is that Forty's must have taken your breath away. Georgio's is getto bar in every sence of the word. Yes its cheap because it seems to cater to the losers and tweakers. Very boring and depressing place. By the way the bartenders dont have a clue and they are RUDE.
So all I can say is to everyone Forty's is brilliant and fun they have good entertainment and the bands that play there are brilliant. Sometimes they have a cover charge but it worth it. Hey good entertainment in the area you cant beat it, especially after moving down here from San Fran. - Anne , posted 07/06/07

Forty's Best Local Bar
The prices are too high the bartender is rude! It was a good place but the are judgemental. If you want to have fun go to Georgio's x-cross from Artichoke Joe's its fun and the bartenders are attentive and FRIENDLY!!!!! Its a breath of fresh air in San Bruno! Did I mention the food it great!!!!! (You might remember it as the club, it was alot of people's home base) - Patti , posted 02/19/07

Jukebox Takeovers
First off, Hi Ria! He he he ... any of the old regulars from Fortys will no doubt remember us, the foreigners trying to control the jukebox (can't get no satisfaction; hurts so good) so Hi to everyone. Definitely get in there unless you're a pretentious snob or horribly up yourself in which case don't bother. We love you Fortys ... Hi Walter!
Love from Lisa. - Lisa-marie , posted 04/13/06

I love this bar!
Whether its hanging out in the snug, drinking at the bar, or dancing on the bar (as some of us have been know to do) this is such a welcoming bar. No cliques, no yuppies, just locals enjoying a night out. The Saturday night crew have alot of fun & it shows.
Cheers to Forty's! - Kym , posted 05/11/05

Recycling an old time hang out
Although the picture is a little fuzzy - the good times at Forty's are not. Forty's Pub is a great local bar in San Bruno, CA. The bar is formerly known as Newell's and has been there since the early 1900's. The bar as you can see has been completely renovated by the new owners Edwina, Mick and Walter. Rich in wood and stone the bar is very sturdy, there was a lot of love and workmanship put into building it. There is a traditional "snug", a sitting area with 2 couches, a lovely back bar with 2 pool tables and 2 dart boards. Outside of the natural light coming in through the staind glass when the day makes way for the night, the lights are dimmed and candles are lit throughout the bar. In the mornings the "old timers" still show up between 6 and 10 AM to have a drink and talk about the pony's with Gene. After that the morning and evening crew take over and your bartenders include a really cool trio: Walter, Angi and Angela rotate their days and nights in the front bar. Likewise they have Brionna keeping the festivities going in the back on the weekends. They are very accomodating, they order food in from local restraunts so you can have something to nosh on while putting back a pint of beer or other cocktail. Speaking of beers, they have 10 on tap and at least 10 or 12 in bottles to choose from. In the front they have 2 big TVs and a large projection TV where you can see everything from the Giants to the Niners to Basketball and NASCAR on Sundays. They make sure to have it all on. It's a great bar with a lot of history, charatcter and style. There is always plenty of company to welcome the newcomers. If you're looking for somewhere new on the peninsula, I'd recommend checking it out!! - Angela , posted 04/18/05
