Cutest Cafe in the World
I may be biased because I'm the owner of Delta of Venus, but I really think it's the cutest cafe in the world. A great place to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner, or just drink fair-trade coffee in a relaxed, cozy atmosphere. Carnivores, vegetarians, and vegans are all heartily satisfied and the caribbean cuisine is unique and mystical, truly special. The award-winning live music series delivers consistantly great national touring acts of all genres, and the Delta is a favorite venue among artists and audiences alike. In winter the fireplace is crackling, and in the spring the popular patio scene bumps with soul and reggae music. Delta of Venus far eclipses every other venue in Davis, except UCD's massive Mondavi Center, for quality musical entertainment. It is the one, true cultural destination spot in Davis. - Lee , posted 11/04/06

DoV was the first place recommended to me to check out- Ten minutes after rolling into Davis I ended up finding reasons to come back to Davis! Great atmosphere, awesome food and one fine Americano. - Unsubscribed , posted 09/22/06

Favorite Cafe EVER
This is bar-none the chillest spot in Davis. I don't know how I would've made it through school without DoV. - Capitol P , posted 05/14/06

Where else in Davis
can you find happy screaming good-time fun seven days a week? If'n I'd never been to Delta, I'd probably have left Davis in a couple days, maybe a week tops. Instead I stayed on two months and met some of the best people in the whole earth under those orange trees. - gabriel , posted 05/08/06

The Delta saved my life!!
..well, not really. Or at all. But boy do I love her anyway! Almost everything on the menu is vegetarian if not vegan. There is some turkey and chicken to choose from, too, so your meaty friends don't get left out. The Delta has won several awards as far as live music is concerned, along with "Best Place to see Live Music in Davis", according to The California Aggie earlier this week. - Sharon , posted 02/09/06

Pesto Primo!
I love the pesto at Delta. I love it on bagels with cream cheese. The staff is really nice too and will put up with anyone hanging out and studying all day. And now that the espresso bar is fixed the drinks are pretty good. The atmosphere makes it all worth it. - , posted 09/05/05

mmmm......waffles, tofu and bluegrass
with organic beer on tap, a beautiful patio to enjoy the sun and live music that ranges from drum n bass to bluegrass, the only thing that could improve upon the situation would be waffles...oh wait they have waffles.

Food is predominantly vegetarian with vegan options (although the mom made cookies are not...but oh so delicious) and the atmosphere is definately co-op. They relocate to black rock city for a week in the summer, probably because if they didn't they would be without clientel for the week...;)

The menu options vary by time of day and chef. Evenings are usually Carribean Food. Midday is sandwichs and salads. Mornings and Weekends are breakfasts that include good omelets and tasty potatoes. The potatoes et al (paired with the free refills of coffee) have been repeatedly voted the best weekend hangover cure. - Spark , posted 01/31/05
