One of Bradbury's rare short stories, and one of my favorites
If you get the chance to read some of Ray Bradbury's works you can't help but get caught up in the magic, graceful, and well thought world that he seems to spin out of language and nuance. He uses the back drop of abandoned Martian villas and sand ships, the sands of a foreign planet, and the influence that an environment seems to have in turning human beings into tall, dark skinned, lanky, black haired, willowy, Martians with a golden film clouding their eyes. Even the fighting father of the family submits and is transformed. If other people arrive from earth they very well might engage in the same fate; no matter how strongly they fight to keep their earthly identity. It is a must read if you can find it. - Sequoia , posted 05/20/09
