We need help making a short documentary relating the following events: Recently, someone anonymously donated a bag of used clothing to one of our thrift stores and one of our sorters, Maria, a humble woman from Guatemala who was working 2 jobs to make ends meet for her family, found $4,000 in the pocket of a pair of jeans. She was honest enough to admit it and turned the $ in. We gave her $400 to reward her for her honesty and all of us decided to donate the remaining $3,600 help the kids we serve. Your job would be to go film this woman, and get her story-- Who is she, why didn’t she just pocket the money? In addition, we plan to follow the $3,600 to Africa where it will be loaned to very poor grandmothers and aunties who are taking care of orphans. About 50 of them will receive loans for starting their own small businesses, which will ultimately support the orphans they care for, as well as additional children and adults in their household, about 250 people in all. We’ll film all that in Africa then bring their thanks and stories back to Maria and if done well we should have an incredible little film. Due to our small budget will are not offering pay for this project, except for an all-expenses paid trip to Africa for 3 weeks in the upcoming months. Hello Everyone, I was approached to do a gig for Pacifica's public TV station but I don't really have the time to do it. Here's what they are looking for: A lady (sorry guys they are looking to equal out their show's gender imbalance by adding a lady). ..so anyway...to do video bumpers (that's like an intro and outro for each segment, think the thing before and after a commercial break on TV). About 6 for each show a minute or two long each. they were originally thinking a DJ but I think live audio could work too. You'd have to supply your own VJ/DJ gear, but they'd set it up for you if you'd like. You can store stuff there. The show is a commentary on current and old skool films. Basically the idea is an edgier version of Siskel and Ebert. Panel of dudes, a few sets/props. Talk and media. The video audio bumpers could be pre-baked but ideally they would be performed live during the show, which is shot in Pacifica once or twice a month (1-2hrs per month). The lady would also announce the next segment or take them out of the current segment. I might estimate it would be like less than 10hrs a month time commitment. Between prepping material, setup/breakdown of your gear, filming the show. ...I'm working on a bunch of stuff right now and don't have the time/energy to dedicate to this.
