Macintosh Technical Support professional to join our Information&#xD;
Services team, based at our main campus in Big Sur, California. This&#xD;
position is responsible for development, maintenance, and support of the&#xD;
technology infrastructure of the organization, including computer&#xD;
systems, phones, network, Internet connectivity, web sites, and other&#xD;
related technologies. Our ideal candidate is a hardcore Mac enthusiast&#xD;
with serious professional support experience and an interest in living&#xD;
and working in our unique community-based environment.&#xD;
&#xD;
RESPONSIBILITIES:&#xD;
&#xD;
The position requires 40 hours work per week, typically scheduled as&#xD;
five consecutive days during normal daily business hours (9am-5pm), and&#xD;
availability for infrequent after-hours maintenance and on-call support&#xD;
in the event of after-hours emergencies. The position is responsible for&#xD;
providing user support and training in a friendly and timely manner,&#xD;
working closely with users from various departments to support the&#xD;
organization. Must be able to think creatively and have an independent&#xD;
sense of ownership and follow-through with daily tasks and projects.&#xD;
Must keep up-to-date with current, relevant technologies, news and&#xD;
standards.&#xD;
&#xD;
QUALITIES FOR CONSIDERATION:&#xD;
&#xD;
* Strong technical background, experience and interest: must have&#xD;
experience providing IT or help desk support in a Mac business or&#xD;
campus/lab environment.&#xD;
* Apple certifications: primary Mac OS X certifications (ACHDS, ACTC,&#xD;
ACSA) are preferred; also valuable are hardware certifications (ACDT,&#xD;
ACPT). New hires without current certification are expected to achieve&#xD;
the ACSP for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard Support Essentials within the first&#xD;
six months of employment, and the ACTC for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard Support&#xD;
&amp;amp; Server Essentials within the first year of employment. Esalen will&#xD;
provide training materials and support to achieve this certification.&#xD;
* Clear communication and willingness to relate to others, to listen and&#xD;
hear concerns in a patient and supportive manner; effective verbal and&#xD;

The salary for this position is $1,500/month which is provided in&#xD;
addition to all meals, on-property housing if available (or housing&#xD;

On the backend are Apple Xserve G5 servers running OS X Server 10.4 and FileMaker 8 Server, and a Windows 2000 server running accounting software.&#xD;

The position requires 32 hours work per week, typically scheduled as four consecutive days during normal daily business hours (9am-5pm), and availability for infrequent after-hours maintenance and on-call support in the event of after-hours emergencies.
